After 4 hotly contested basketball competitions before half-term, the top teams came together for the North West Leicestershire final at Castle Rock. There were 2 teams from Broom Leys as well as teams from Willesley, St Clares and Whitwick St John. The quality was really high across the event with some really impressive performances from all the teams.
St Clares were perhaps the unluckiest team on the day after they conceded equalising baskets in the last 10 seconds on 2 occasions to finish the evening with 2 draws, giving them 6 points overall. Both teams from Broom Leys finished with a win and a draw and 7 points but it was Broom Leys A who finished in 3rd with a better points difference. Willesley finished as runners-up on 8 points after 2 wins.
Whitwick St John won all 4 of their matches to win the event and they will now progress through to represent NWL in the Level 3 competition.
Thanks to Castle Rock for hosting the event and to all the teachers and support staff from the schools who supported the competition.
