It was Ibstock Community College’s turn to host the basketball and with it came the largest turnout of any event with 9 teams from 6 schools competing for the second spot in the NWL grand final. After 70 minutes of intense, competitive and sporting basketball the top 2 from each group advanced to the semi final.
The semi-final line up saw an all Willesley Semi-final 1 and a Griffydam v Ashby C of E semi final 2 both games finished in dramatic fashion with only a single basket separating the teams. The final truly was a spectacle to behold, high energy, end to end basketball on display and again ending with a single basket between the teams at the final buzzer. When the dust had settled Willesley had claimed the second grand final place with a hard fought win!
Congratulations to Snarestone for winning the Spirit Of The Games award for there Teamwork and Respect

With one space left at the grand final up for grabs the 4th event returned to Castle Rock High School. With a group stage and knockout stage format in operation. Teams were split into 2 groups with the top 2 advancing to the semi final stage. Both groups had close matches, high scoring and buzzer beating shots. When the dust had settled All Saints had won pool 1 and Packington A won pool 2.
The Semi final and final did not disappoint with a single score separating each match. Fast paced defensive basketball was the order of the day but when the final whistle blew Woodstone had booked their spot in the grand final.
Congratulations to Ashby Hill Top for winning the Spirit of the Game award for their Honesty and Determination.
