The ELITE Leadership Academy aims to identify and bring together the most talented and committed young leaders from across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland to develop, enhance and refine their skills by working alongside other young people and sport professionals.
We are happy to announce the following students from North West Leicestershire schools have been offered a place on the ELITE Leadership Academy for 2017/18:
Archie Vanes- Ashby School
Level 2 sports leader and volunteered at a number of competitions. Archie would like to challenge himself and hope the academy will help on his pathway to a sporting career.
Jessica Willet- King Edward VII College
A keen Netball and Rugby player, Jessica has helped coach younger girls at rugby taster sessions and volunteered at NWLSSP rugby competitions.
Eve Dale- King Edward VII College
Assistant Coach at Whitwick Junior Badminton Club, Eve would love to enhance her leadership qualities as well as help inspire others in sport.
Phoebe Gerard – Ashby School
Completed her Level 2 sports leadership qualification and quicksticks hockey leadership. Achieving these qualifications has really helped Phoebe develop confidence and would love to develop this a lot more.
Grace Page- King Edward VII College
As a dedicated Young Rugby Ambassador, Grace has volunteered a considerable amount of time to Rugby. She is especially interested in developing her coaching skills through the ELITE Leadership Academy.
Emma Woodward- Ashby School
As a level 2 sports leader, Emma has also officiated and led at a number of NWLSSP competitions. Through the Academy, she would like to improve her communication skills to strive to become the best she can possibly be.
Huge congratulations to the students for their hard work, the selected applicants will have access to training related to coaching, officiating and event volunteering. Additionally they will be the workforce for the School Games Championships and act as role models back in their own schools.
