Intent: Try a new sport, having fun, skill development and creating a pathway to a community club called Leicester Bears Handball Club

Target Group: Those that have not represented the school in any sporting activities or are not currently engaged in sport. This is a fun skill-based festival designed to be fully inclusive for all pupils that take part.

Format:

• Pupils will be split into groups of approximately 8 children, depending upon the total number of children at the festival.
• Pupils will then rotate around skill stations preparing themselves to take part in games. Skills include, catching, throwing/passing, shooting, agility, spatial awareness and teamwork.
• Pupils will then play handball games against other mixed school groups, games will not be scored.
• Teachers will be asked to support groups of children on the stations and during games.

Equipment: Pupils will need to wear PE kit and arrive already changed. They will also need to bring their own drink.

Additional Information: The festival will not be scored. The young person should simply be excited about taking part, developing the correct skill and having fun.
