We are excited to announce that the we will be holding our Primary Ambassador Training Day at the Whitwick and Coalville Leisure Centre again on the 18th September 2025.

Here at North West Leicestershire School Sport Partnership we strive to offer develop key leadership skills for all students within our partnership through quality training, events and opportunities.
Anybody who is involved in leadership and volunteering within North West Leicestershire School Sport Partnership falls under the umbrella of the Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy is organised and structured to maximise the great potential that our leaders possess, and help to drive sport forward with our partnership
The Primary Ambassadors is step 2 of our leadership pathway.
Whom should you select?
Max 4 pupils
1 teacher should be present on the training day to support learning.
Students should be in year 5 or 6 in the 2025/2026 academic year. Pupils should have a passion for sport and keen to get involved in further opportunities in your school.
You can select pupils who have been an Ambassador in the previous year, however please note that the training day will have a similar theme.
When selecting the right pupils please consider the below applicant profile.
Applicant Profile
Will be a student that has the ability to voice their own opinions along with the opinions of others to SSP staff/teachers and to peers.
Should be creative and enthusiastic about sport and physical activity and be able to come up with own ideas.
They will be selected by the teachers and with support will form/be part of the sport committee for their Primary School.
Primary Ambassador candidates should possess some or all of the following skills:
• Be enthusiastic
• Be sensible/responsible
• Be creative
• Be confident
• Shows initiative
• Good Communicator
• Be organised
• Works well in a team
• Be a good role model
• Interested in driving sport forward in school and in the local community
Or at least has the potential to have these attributes given the chance.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Work with Primary Ambassadors/teachers/SSP staff with the development of sport and leadership in their school.
• Volunteer within school to help at school run events.
• Be a channel for the student voice to be heard.
• Be a positive role model/school representative.
• Promote the benefits of being active and healthy within the school environment.
During the training day Primary Ambassadors will be trained on;
• Skills and qualities of an ambassador
• Expectations
• Healthy eating
• The Daily Boost
• Action planning
• Goal setting
• How to plan events, virtual and within school
Within the training day there will be a balance between classroom sessions and practical sessions.
**Participants will be required to bring their own lunch and drinks
