Brian Rushe

Director of Sport And Community Development & School Sports Development Officer/School Games Organiser

Job title: Director of School and Community Development

Role overview: Guide the strategic direction of NWLSSP, ensuring we have the resources to create high quality PE, school sport and physical activity experiences for all pupils in NWLSSP membership schools. Managing the NWLSSP team and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Best school sport memory: Winning the all Belfast Gaelic Football Cup at Casement Park in year 8.

Greatest sporting achievement: Representing Antrim and Warwickshire at Gaelic Football. Completing a 100 mile cycle.

Likes: Food, Sports & Travelling

Dislikes: Negativity, moaning and salad

Kirsty Naismith

School Sports Development Officer

Started at NWLSSP: March 2019

Role overview:  To be the lead contact for primary schools in the NWLSSP, working alongside them to improve PE & school sports provisions for all pupils within the school sports system as well as supporting the delivery of level 1 & 2 school sports games.

Best school sport memory: Playing badminton for the school team and winning the inter school competition!

Greatest sporting achievement: Scoring a goal!!!!!

Likes: Football, baking and sleeping in

Dislikes: Ketchup & winter

Kieran Storer

Assistant School Sports Development Officer - Secondary

Started at NWLSSP: October 2023

Role Overview: To be the lead contact for Secondary Schools in the NWLSSP, working alongside them to improve PE and School Sport provision for all pupils within the school system. Provide sport leadership opportunities across all primary and secondary schools. Work as part of the NWLSSP Events Team delivering level 1 and 2 school games competitions across the partnership.

Best school sport memory: Going unbeaten in the year 8 rugby season.

Greatest sporting achievement: Finishing 1st in the National Junior Table Tennis League Division 2. Also hitting my first 180 in darts.

Likes:  Playing darts, eating out and training at the gym.

Dislikes: Vegetables, leg day at the gym.

Angus Youles

Assistant School Sports Development Officer (Primary)

Started at NWLSSP: January 2023

Role overview: My role is to be the lead contact for Primary Schools in the partnership, working alongside them to improve PE and School Sport provision for all pupils within the school system. I also work as part of the NWLSSP Events Team delivering Level 1 and 2 School Games competitions across the partnership.

Best school sport memory: Missing lessons to play sport (doesn’t matter what sport it was)

Greatest sporting achievement: Playing with and against former international cricketers

Likes: Mexican food, Travelling, Cricket and Tennis

Dislikes: Baked beans in a fry up and winter

Kelly Martin

Role Overview: To provide administrative support to NWLSSP. Collate, monitor and record data and details required for external funders, partners and NWLSSP and assist with conference, meetings, festival, competition and event management organisation and liaison

Best school sport memory: Running cross country for my primary school

Likes: Thai food, swimming and the great outdoors
